Angles to Han Xiuzhi’s works
The Nobel Prize in Literature in recent years were awarded to writers who were brought up in remote areas but now live in metropolis. They related the folks and stories sourced from their hometown where all their memory was stranger to readers. All their bygone, however, was somehow laced with influence hailing from the place their dwelt in. As such, their stories and folks involved remained unfamiliar to themselves. That is what stroke me the moment I saw Han Xiuzhi’s works.
Artists always work wanders by dint of something, such as experience and imagination.
Whatever their reliance may be, artists attach great importance to standpoints and angles. They are likely to feel more rest assured by visualizing the experience at the beginning of their lives when their standpoints are every bit as small as the ground where they stand. They feel free to imagine and talk and sense the existence of their own. That makes artists look like a child.
Children bear simple angles and are not tied to responsibility so their imagination and behavior are more out of control and abnormal. I think those angles are adopted by Han Xiuzhi who views the world in his works from unique point of view.
